Dubai A City of the Future

Dubai on the Arabian Peninsula is a remarkable place, a city of the future.

Dubai has a strange other worldliness about it, situated in the middle of the scrub desert landscape, sparsely inhabited but with an exciting modern coast city in its midst.

Even if you are in the middle of the desert, that’s no reason not to try indoor, downhill skiing at the Mall of the Emirates.

Iconic architecture has also become the landmark of Dubai, with such places as the famous 5-star Burj Al Arab Hotel with its futuristic shape. There is also the manmade “World” archipelago just off shore from Dubai where a complex of 300 islands has been created from dredged sand. Also reclaimed land of the palm beaches of Jumeirah and the islands of Jebel Ali and Deira are a great place for swimming and sunbathing.

Opened in 2010 the Burjkhalifa, currently the tallest building in the world, is set to become another great tourist attraction for the city.

Dubai provides a strange futuristic experience, with the familiarity of western brand names, being set along side the exotic culture of the Arab world.  There is plenty to see, try and taste. Dubai is tomorrow’s world, today.

Flights to the United Arab Emirates are increasingly popular for travellers who want to savour the distinct hospitality and world-class infrastructure that this captivating city offers.  Etihad Airways the National Airline of the United Arab Emirates operates flights to Dubai from London and many other international airports listed at the bottom of this page.
